Care. Quality. Artistry. Passion. I am Ryan McKone, owner/operator of Silver Falls Taxidermy in Canby, Oregon. Growing up in Northeast Oregon hunting, fishing
and camping in the Blue Mountains, Elkhorn Mountains and the Wallowa Mountains have blessed me with opportunities to see the best big game hunting Oregon has to offer. I’ve had a strong interest in taxidermy in high school watching my woodshop teacher complete mounts and start my training. After college, I attended Academy of Realistic Taxidermy in Havre, Montana which allowed me to study under national recognized taxidermists like State and National award winner Steve Faechner, National Champion Clay Wagner and Danny Owens who has earned numerous National Championship awards and is a world competition judge.. From hunting horseback for deer and elk in the Eagle Cap Wilderness to chasing Bighorn Sheep in the desert of Southeast Oregon, I’ve seen amazing trophies and continue to raise the bar like these renowned taxidermists. Studying wildlife in its natural habitat and creating good reference turns a great product and that’s my promise to you.
